Description
Andy’s version of one of THE great grayling flies, originally designed by master craftsman Craig Mcdonald. This version takes away the bulky dubbing body of the original pattern and replaces it with a far more skinny UV body material. Still with that same browny/purple glint but with a fraction of the bulk, making for a nymph which looks great, sinks fast and just catches, catches, catches! In a range of sizes for all water depths, the Improved Duracell is a pattern for clearer water conditions, with that sparse CDC collar hackle giving subtle movement. The sz14 is a fantastic point fly in a riffle, the little sz18 is a top fly under a duo flu, or even fished on it’s own on a micro leader. It’s worth keeping in mind too, that the Improved Duracell isn’t just a grayling fly, trout love them too!
